About Solarpunk Notes

Climate writing that hasn't given up. Solarpunk, regenerative design, and the next century.

Why solarpunk

Most climate writing is doom, with a side of carbon-credit techno-optimism. Solarpunk is the third option: we know it's bad, we're not pretending otherwise, but the next century is going to be built by someone. We'd rather it be people who took ecology seriously. The dispatches here are notes from that work — agronomy, urbanism, energy, governance, and the cultural shifts that have to happen alongside.

What we stand for

Honest optimism

The future will be hot, weirder, and possibly better. Some of that is up to us.

Regenerative first

Sustaining isn't enough. Land, communities, and economies need to actively heal.

Public-good tech

Solar, batteries, mass transit, district heating. The boring tech that matters.
